Position Overview: The Warehouse Lead is considered a beginning supervisor position. This position is responsible for overseeing and assisting warehouse employees with the set up and proper operation of all relevant equipment and daily tasks. This position will provide support and training for warehouse employees and staffing agency associates. Will facilitate communication between warehouse staff and management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees and assists with proper set-up of equipment.
- Operates forklift within all areas of the facility.
- Coordinates and covers duties required by personnel while they are on breaks, lunch or PTO.
- Assist supervisor in ensuring documentation is complete, legible and conforms with company SOPs, policies and procedures.
- Directs hands-on employee training. Provides real-time feedback on performance.
- Monitors quality control throughout entire warehouse and distribution process.
- Creates a team mentality and fosters a collaborative work environment.
- Increases production by identifying and implementing approved processes.
- Identifies faulty equipment and notifies proper department.
- Trains new staff and develops existing talent.
- Facilitates communication between warehouse shifts, as well as department management.
- Directs and oversees product rework processes according to Company procedures and protocols.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Other tasks and duties as may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has limited supervisory responsibilities over assigned personnel and staffing agency associates.
- This position reports to the Production Supervisor, Senior Production Supervisor, and Department Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 6 or more years of warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
- 3 or more year of managerial, supervisory or lead experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possesses a good understanding of Bob’s Red Mill’s operations, policies and procedures.
- Can effectively communicate company expectations and procedures.
- Ability to work at a fast pace within a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to follow exact procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrated experience training or willingness to undergo formal training regarding teaching and instructing others.
- Ability to work well individually and lead a team.
- Proficient time management skills, especially during machine down time.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English. Proficiency in a second language is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.

- Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
Physical Demands:
- Good physical dexterity with the ability to stand for long periods of time, reach overhead, walk on uneven surfaces etc.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Occasional lifting of weight up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Working weekends is required.
- The work environment is primarily production and warehouse settings.
- Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
