SUMMARY
Inspects various component parts of a parachute system to ensure quality standards are being met. Receives all incoming material/products and places into appropriate inventory locations awaiting disposition. Packs, and ships all orders ready for fulfillment and prepares all necessary documentation for transportation of product door to door.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and unpacks materials and supplies
- Checks receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects and reports to customer service
- Using technical drawings, charts or specifications, check product to ensure units, parts or equipment falls within the proper operational limits
- Conduct inspection of a range of parachute items including parts, subassemblies or units to determine compliance with quality standards
- Reject and record all non-conforming product and tag for disposition
- Prepare units or equipment as required for shipping including appropriate shipping containers and packing materials
- Expedites material to proper department or storage location
- Arranges for Carrier Pick up
- Prepares appropriate documentation such as bill of lading, exportation paperwork, etc.
- Creates necessary receiver documentation paperwork
- Makes courier and errand services weekly as necessary for restocking company supplies
- Operates standard manual and automatic equipment including forklift and computer systems
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Disciplined and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- High level of follow-through
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Solid knowledge of Fed-Ex, UPS, and common carrier shipping regulations and procedures
- Rigger experience preferred
- Knowledge of parachutes preferred
- Ability to obtain Forklift certification
- Firm understanding and proven experience with Quality Inspections
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements of the Position
This is a full-time position. The incumbent must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Work hours may vary or change based on departmental requirements.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, handle, or feel objects, or controls and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, bend, and kneel for periods of time. The employee is regularly required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
