About the Job:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage incoming payments, properly tracking them into the system to maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Accounts Receivable transactions, including generating invoices, posting receipts, and processing customer payments.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that coding and documentation requirements are met for accounts payable transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts payable transactions, and preparing accruals.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and follow up on outstanding invoices and overdue payments.
- Investigate and resolve customer billing inquiries and disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Accounting Receivable: 3 years (Required)
- Accounts Payable: 1 year (Required)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Proven experience as an A/P A/R Specialist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and Accounts Receivable procedures and best practices.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Able to safely lift,pull and push up to 25 lbs.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.
- Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Able to sit and use the computer for hours at a time.
- Repetitive hand motions, such as typing.
- Communication: developed written and verbal communication skills are necessary when working as an A/R Specialist. The A/R Specialist will often communicate with clients, requesting payment or setting up payment plans.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills are useful as an A/R Specialist as they are often managing multiple projects at one time.
- Organization: Ability to closely pay attention to detail will ensure that records and reports are accurate.
- Computer: Will often work with accounting and bookkeeping computer programs to identify past due accounts and to report payments.
