R&D Technician
The technician position will work in the Solution Center of Geon Performance Solutions technology group. The Technician will complete weigh up, blending, processing and molding/testing on specific assigned projects and have a high degree of proficiency on equipment such as Banburys, Henschels, Two Roll Mills, Brabender, Single/Twin Screw extruders, and Injection Molding equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with professional technical staff on projects related to product development or application development depending on the work area of the job.
- Laboratory work involving new experiments and sample preparation.
- Process material using Banburys, Henschels, Two Roll Mills, Brabender, Single/Twin Screw extruders, and Injection Molding equipment.
- Accurately measures, records and reports data.
- Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
The following qualifications are required for this job:
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
At least 3 years of experience operating plastics extrusion, two roll mills, or similar plastics processing experience.
Strong preference for previous technician experience working in an R&D lab or solution center in the plastics or polymers industry.
