Job Summary
The Quality Operator tests product batches and will make adjustments, as necessary, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
Essential Functions
Coordinates the testing schedule at the beginning of each shift.
Communicates with manufacturing what needs to be tested and when it will be ready to test.
Maintains the testing schedule to ensure that all products are tested.
Performs applicable testing on inbound raw materials as required.
Performs applicable in process testing and finished product testing as required.
Enters test data in the appropriate files on the computer.
Prints out test data sheets when testing is complete, signs and gives them to QA Manager for review.
Communicates test results that are out of range with QA manager.
Certifies outbound shipments with a COA.
Keeps the test sample board and log up to date.
Insures that all material in QA testing areas and the lab is properly identified and labeled.
Communicates all issues, concerns, and maintenance and supply needs to supervisor.
Updates appropriate incoming shift personnel on applicable QA related activities.
Keeps lab and surrounding areas organized and clean.
Helps QA Supervisor in the documentation maintenance of specifications and R&D projects.
Faxes or e-mails copies of COA to customer when required.
Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Required
Education & Experience:
US High School diploma, GED equivalency or equivalent experience
Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Previous experience working in a quality-driven environment
Additional Qualifications
Required Skill:
Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/materials.
Ability to perform all Testing SOPs.
Knowledge and ability to operate all testing equipment and scanner.
Knowledge of raw materials and finished products.
Knowledge of Product ID and traceability system.
Knowledge of customer requirements for finished packages.
Ability to create a Certificate of Analysis for all products.
Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and fix common problems
Self-starter with initiative, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
Able to work within a team environment
Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to:
o moving mechanical parts
o fumes or airborne particles
o noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud noise
Employees are required to wear mandatory PPE(8 to 12hrs per shift)which include:
o safety glasses
o hearing protection when on production floor
o steel toe shoes/boots when on production floor
o specific gloves when performing specific tasks
