The Quality Assurance Technician will ensure that a quality product is delivered to clients by performing inspections requirements in a timely fashion, inspect processed parts for defects and conformance to specifications, and maintain records required by the quality program. The Inspector will also prepare, print, and circulate MFT work orders and maintain all files containing work orders and customer quotations. Adequate training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
- · High School Diploma or equivalent required - some college and/or degree a plus
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and within the Quality function.
· Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· Competent written and oral communication skills
· Must be a team player, self-motivated, dependable and dedicated.
· Ability to manage one’s own time and collaborate within the team.
· Ability to use “critical thinking” in solving problems.
· Knowledge of Production processes
· Blueprint reading basic GD&T knowledge preferred.
· Familiarization in statistics, data analytics, DOE, multivariate statistics, process monitoring, data collection and adaptive methods.
Essential Duties:
· Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for working with quality, production, and engineering to ensure that all periodic tests and verification activities are scheduled, processed, and completed within the allowable frequency.
· Reviews customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance where periodic, preproduction, and property verification testing is required.
· Acts as POC between the organization and sub-tier laboratory providers.
· Maintains coupon inventory system for various standards and generic alloy types.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate all internal and external periodic tests to ensure testing frequency remains compliant.
· Maintain coupon logbooks, test matrix and periodic/ preproduction testing schedule.
· Perform disposition on internal periodic test.
· Compile and review testing data from sub-tier providers.
· Review processing data and test reports for specification compliance.
· Collect and analyze testing data for emerging trends.
· Act upon negative and/ or questionable test trends as they emerge.
· Assist in RCCA investigations for any test failures and/ or negative trends.
· Maintain test records to ensure traceability to shop records and test reports.
· Maintain material control system for all test specimens and coupons.
· Identify test pieces and coupons per the internal identification and traceability procedure.
· Provide assistance when implementing new testing requirements and procedures.
· Assist in daily activities such as incoming inspection, final inspection and order entry.
