Responsibilities:

Use knowledge of, and experience with, automotive industry product development and production processes, quality management and the application of quality methods and audit processes, automotive connectivity and software testing to establish quality release process and define special approval criteria. Perform failure analysis and test procedures to implement improvements with suppliers as well as internal development, engineering, and logistics departments. Plan and execute individual function checks in vehicles to validate proper functionality, ensure quality and correct part variant installation including functionality tests of Electric/Electronic components using dedicated IT-Equipment (Laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) to evaluate the final product a customer's viewpoint. Evaluate effectiveness of quality measures and recommend changes of test methods, programs, processes and design concepts. Define test course and describe the static and dynamic evaluation process for vehicles and components. Develop and implement new testing methods and procedures including training of the failure analysis staff on changes to computer aided design system. Analyze electric/electronic defects detected during electronic tests using different databases and perform test results trace analysis and effective problem solving for defects. Continuous improvement and comparison of the Quality Release Process with other company facilities. Support test devices repair, including spare parts ordering. Communicate analysis and information to non-technical audience. Communicate with R&D, IT and Quality departments in overseas headquarters. Lead medium sized project within area of expertise including planning of deadlines, release testing and quality releases. Report to management team daily regarding failure analysis, statistics, feedback process and continuous process improvements with the development, logistics and supplier departments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of employment experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties. Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brand Mercedes-Benz. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. Therefore, MBV celebrates a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
