Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the quality function as it relates to production departments, supervision of Quality Auditors, and monitoring incoming raw materials with regarding to tracking and inspection.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties
PLANNING, PROCEDURES AND PROCESS
1. Oversees functions of Quality Auditor Team members, ensuring conformance of activities to Quality System procedures and instructions along with departmental instructions.
2. Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing work instructions to assess compliance and determine continual improvement activities.
3. Assists with the development and implementation of quality assurance standards
4. Meets with all levels of department management to communicate and discuss instances in an effort to resolve any issues that may arise.
5. Performs and assigned housekeeping duties to Quality Auditor Team members.
6. Communicates customer concerns within the department and to the shop floor.
7. Creation and distribution of Quality Alerts.
8. Evaluation of print, molded and thermoformed product to ensure customer requirements are being met
9. Ability to operate and perform all internal testing
10. Maintains IMS, Safety and other industry standard work instructions, procedures and form
11. Follows up on corrective/preventative action activities
12. Perform inventory adjustments, as needed
13. Must accurately and timely complete all required paperwork required for the QS System
14. Maintains policies, procedures, work instructions and forms
15. Oversees Quality Auditor Team member training and works with the Quality Manager in evaluating and assess training needs along with maintaining training records.
16. Responsible for incoming raw material inspection and testing, record retention and disposition
17. Receive and maintain the COA for all incoming materials, comparing product to listed specifications
18. Assist in the develop of palletization of product and TOPS creation
19. Determines that all parts to be used in products meet job specifications. Determines what parts should be rejected as unusable.
20. Assists with supplier non-conformances, identification, segregation and disposition of product.
21. Responsible for initiating containments of suspect or non-conforming product, coordinating sort and rework activities and final disposition of product following departmental or Quality System instructions.
22. Assists with trials and studies performed in production areas.

24. Has a working knowledge of appearance and dimensional items and the ability to make decisions based on that knowledge and customer requirements
25. Participates in assigned corrective/preventative action meetings including root cause analysis. Performs follow up audits on corrective/preventative actions.
26. Compiles statistical data and writes reports summarizing findings.
27. Interacts with customers as needed to resolve concerns and quality issues.
28. Review production schedules and communicate any related issues to the appropriate personnel.
29. Develop, implement and maintain Molding Department Operator Visual Aid Work Instructions.
30. Assist with any repack activities to ensure product compliance to customer requirements
31. Create and issue any Tooling or Maintenance Work Orders as needed
32. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Provides coverage for the Quality Manager in their absence
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
Minimum qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Working Experience – Nature & Length
Previous Quality experience in a manufacturing environment and supervisory experience required. Product knowledge of injection molding products is preferred. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with the ability to multi-task, perform under pressure and work within the specified project timing assigned. Additional training may be assigned or required. ISO and SQF experience is highly desirable. CMM a plus.
Additional qualifications – competency requirements
Oral and Written Communication skills; Must be able to read, write and comprehend written materials and perform basic math functions. Computer skills required. Visual and JDE ERP system knowledge required.
