Danfoss is looking for an experienced, reliable, self-driven Quality Engineer to join our team at our Longmont, CO facility who is passionate and motivated towards delivering best quality and continual improvement. You will be responsible for Support and promote the development of a quality culture through educating the organization in continuous improvement activities while assuring Danfoss commitment to quality in all aspects of the organization. Represent customer's best interest through manufacturing processes by assuring full compliance to Danfoss Quality System.
Job Responsibilities
- Being responsible for incoming parts quality from PPAP creation, work with supplier, coordinate test and approvals in production and laboratory's and setting up a maintain control plans for incoming inspection.
- Collaborate with suppliers to define quality requirements and ensure compliance with Danfoss standards and specifications.
- Create a Quality notifications in SAP for non-conforming materials.
- Analyze supplier PPAP's, including non-conformities and corrective actions, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure all aspects of the PPAP requirements from Danfoss are clearly defined, are understood by the supplier, the supplier completes all documents thoroughly, and the PPAP submission meets all Danfoss expectations.
- Maintain documentation and records related to supplier quality performance and improvement activities.
- Being responsible to develop, implement and continuously improve end to end Quality Management system, from suppliers through production to customers.
- Maintain inspection and relevant quality records along with computer database.
- Develop and maintain Quality inspection plans for receiving goods in consultation with Engineering.
- Performs inspection as and when required including finished product parts (dock audits) per established inspection requirements, ensuring customer quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships and communications with all employees, participating effectively as a team member.
- Responsible for continuous improvement activities (5's, kaizen lean workshops, etc.) to enhance quality system in their respective area of responsibility.
- Assist in the development of PFMEA's and be a facilitator of information that provides a better use of the tool.
- Interface with engineering and operations to ensure manufacturing process compliance to quality system and an effective and efficient process performance (safety, quality, cost and productivity). Actively participate in manufacturing and process improvement teams as the voice of the customer.
Background & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 4 years of experience applying quality tools in manufacturing environment. Automotive preferred.
- Extensive knowledge and experience on AIAG core tools such as SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP and MSA.
- Strong communicative, organized, and well-structured approach towards tasks and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and result-oriented, with a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement.
- Thorough knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD and T) principles
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to facilitate problem solving.
Preferred qualifications
- Internal auditor for ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 and internal quality management system.
- Proficiency in problem solving and quality techniques preferred, such as: Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt, Shainin Red X Tools.
Job Criteria
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Computer literate in SAP, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Outstanding safety record and approach to behavioral based safety using proper PPE are requirements.

Compensation Data
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$95,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
