The Mojang Quality Engineering Team is looking for a Quality Engineer II to join us on this
mission. As a Quality Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of quality experiences for our
players. You will define and execute a holistic quality strategy for your areas, leveraging modern techniques
like telemetry to assess quality during development, and automation to maintain quality over time. You will
collaborate closely with development teams to establish a quality approach early, and drive best
practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Own the quality strategy for key features and functionality in the Minecraft franchise by collaborating closely with the feature teams to define quality goals and requirements.
- Make decisions and tradeoffs around day-to-day team execution and reactionary work, balancing against investments in efficiency and the future.
- Monitor, summarize, and effectively communicate the quality of the product, state of quality efforts, and team strategy to leadership through conversations, reports, and formal presentations.
- Coordinate priorities across manual testing, data, and software engineering teams to increase the immediate impact of shared deliverables.
- Help build and foster a quality mindset and culture on our team, and with our feature teams.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years software industry experience
- OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years software industry experience
- OR equivalent experience or capabilities.
- 4+ years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or a related field within the gaming industry.
- 1+ years of experience with large or complex features over a full ship cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Detailed oriented with the ability to build solutions.
- Experience building visualizations/dashboards on player telemetry to assess quality.
- Experience working with test automation frameworks to authoring test automation.
- Practical, reliable, and efficient, you excel at turning ideas into actions, by organizing and tracking work to completion.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for Minecraft.
Software Quality Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
