GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and liaises with managers, staff, and associates to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. As such the Quality Assurance Specialist directs the Quality Assurance/quality management system operations across Powerbrace Corporation. This includes responsibilities for the design, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor’s degree or associate degree, and 3-5 years relevant experience; specifically related to the implementation and management of a certified quality management system such as ISO\AAR\QS\TS.
Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Hands on experience with quality audits, statistical analysis, PPAP preparation and submittal, engineering, and technical drawings, specifications, industry standards, industry accepted quality concepts and development and implementation of inspection techniques and equipment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the quality program is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the relevant quality systems standard (AAR/ISO/TS/QS) across the organization.
- Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined objectives / targets - Monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
- Periodically review the quality program, as a means for program improvement through the management review process of the quality management system.
- The identification, root cause analysis, recommendation for solutions, continual performance improvement and prevention activities related to product, processes, or within the quality program.
- Identifying relevant quality-related training needs company wide and ensuring that the quality staff is trained and competent to perform these tasks.
- Work with customers on product related issues/opportunities.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers. Support subsequent supplier selection, certification, performance monitoring and continual improvement initiatives.
Compliance and accountability to all related quality systems processes as described in the Quality Assurance Manual, procedures and /or work instructions.
