Job Description
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, your primary role is to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software products or systems through rigorous testing and Quality Assurance practices. You will work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify defects, verify functionality, and validate user experience. Your expertise in testing methodologies, automation tools, and Quality Assurance processes will contribute to the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet customer expectations and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with project stakeholders to define test objectives, scope, and acceptance criteria based on business requirements and user stories.
Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios that cover functional, non-functional, and regression testing aspects of the software.
Define test strategies and methodologies, including manual testing, automated testing, performance testing, and compatibility testing.
Test Execution and Reporting: Execute test cases and test scripts to verify software functionality, identify defects, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Document test results, including defects, test coverage, and test execution metrics, using test management tools and issue tracking systems.
Provide timely and accurate test reports and status updates to project stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and product owners.
Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test suites using automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Appium, or Cypress.
Identify opportunities for test automation and implement automated testing solutions to increase test coverage, efficiency, and repeatability.
Execute automated tests as part of the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to ensure early detection of defects and rapid feedback to developers.
Regression Testing and Defect Management: Conduct regression testing to validate software changes and enhancements and ensure backward compatibility with existing functionality.
Manage defect lifecycle, including defect identification, logging, prioritization, tracking, and resolution, using issue tracking systems like Jira or Bugzilla.
Work closely with development teams to investigate and troubleshoot defects, provide detailed defect reports, and verify defect fixes.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in the QA process, including test automation, test data management, and test environment setup.
Participate in retrospectives and post-mortem meetings to analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and propose corrective actions.
Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in software testing and Quality Assurance.
