Role Summary
As a Quality Engineer at Middleby Coffee Solutions Group, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the high standards of quality associated with the Synesso and Concordia brands. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all quality initiatives and processes for the Synesso and Concordia brands.
- Identify and distinguish design issues, vendor quality issues, and manufacturing process issues. Assist with corrective actions that prevent quality escapes to our customers.
- Manage Supplier quality performance trending, reporting, improvement, and development activities.
- Coordinate and oversee manufacturing process audits. Ensure adherence to all released manufacturing processes. Identify and address issues with the released process documents.
- Establish process to improve visibility, tracking, and status of customer quality issues, while creating an auditable record of customer quality RCCA activities.
- Coordinate with service, sales, and engineering to perform RCCA on field failures and customer quality issues.
- Provide NPI quality engineering support and advocacy. Be a champion for DFM, DFMEA, and PFMEA activities.
- IPQC and QMS process support: Coordinate with and support Production and Engineering in the creation, release, and on-going maintenance of manufacturing process documents.
- Identify and implement IPQC Inspections as needed.? Coordinate with ERP administrators and champions to leverage and implement the SyteLine QC Module IPQC inspection capabilities.
- Support and coordinate FAIR activities and in-house part approval and acceptance.? Coordinate the characterization, measurement, and fit testing of new parts, new part revisions, and new suppliers and vendors.
- IQC Inspection: Improve the IQC Inspection process for key parts or vendors with a history of quality issues. Coordinate with ERP administrators and champions to leverage and implement the SyteLine QC Module IQC inspection capabilities.?
- Coordinate and manage MRB activities and inventory.?
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding non-conforming purchased parts.? Coordinate with Supply Chain on RTV activities and inventory management.?
- Ability to make sound decisions when it comes to quality v. production.
- Assess, approve, and coordinate the qualification and implementation of Supplier Change and Deviation Requests
- Oversee the daily activities of front-line quality inspector(s).
- Audit suppliers as needed.
- Assist with Agency inspections and requirements – UL, NSF, ETL, CE, CB Scheme
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of Quality Assurance experience?in a manufacturing environment.
- BS in Engineering or Technical Degree.
- Familiarity with QMS standards (ISO9001, AS9100).
- Spreadsheet and Database knowledge.
- Competency with the use, maintenance, and calibration of metrology tools.
- Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understanding of metal forming, machining, and welding
Nice to have:
- ERP (especially Syteline) Knowledge
- Team player, self-starter, owns their projects.
- SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM knowledge
- Project Management Experience
- Familiarity with AQL sampling (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, MIL-STD-105E)
- Prior experience working in manufacturing, preferably in the coffee industry and/or machinery, is a plus.
