Role and Responsibilities
  • Leading R&D to implement new standards and specification related changes and/or carrier specific requirements
  • Propose new ideas and enhancements to SEA field operations and communicate with headquarters for various related features and issues
  • This role conducts intermediate technical analysis of customer requirements and creates, evaluates, and develops implementation concepts / approaches to meet customer requirements
  • Works independently, and may function as a team lead as needed. Determines approach to work, and is monitored/supervised based more on milestone basis, and at key deliverable junctures
  • Identify the required documentation and process for the project, lead in creation of design requirements. Assist & lead in analyzing test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Collaborate with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software products.   • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
  • Translation of complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design. Responsible for the over-all systems architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Maintaining & mentoring current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology. Candidate must be able to work with a minimum of technical supervision and supplemental engineering support
  • Use technical engineering knowledge and experience to understand customer applications, test cases, and requirements. Interworking capability with teams in different time zones.
  • Diagnose Protocol and System level issues from the carriers, screen through and debug issues reported from carrier, and oversee IOT and field test by doing in-depth log analysis
  • Will Manage & train junior Engineer and 3rd party engineers to perform required test items
  • Mentor fellow engineers to provide 1 on 1 training in the field (technical, process)
  • Create / update technical, test process, work process documents

Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum BS degree in related fields required & 7+ years of technical or telecommunications engineering related experiences in mobile phone/tablet or related industry
  • Strong Knowledge of 3GPP, GSMA -IR.92, IR.94 standards, IMS, SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP protocols, TCP/IP networking
  • Demonstrate strong Tool knowledge in QXDM, QCAT, QPST, QMICM, NNEXT, SHANNON DM, N-Trace, Mobile Analyzer, Artemis, Debug Mux, Spy Tracer, Odin, XCAL, Mobile Datum, PC Datum, Wire shark
  • Core competencies in Java and/or C#, also Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python to Write Test automation code using Eclipse, Android Studio, Visual Studio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven track record on delivering results, especially in the area of writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and be able to effectively drive cross-team solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements
  • Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines
  • Use field test engineering skills and knowledge to test and evaluate new Wireless Products including the verification of product performance of satellite, indoor, and sensor-based positioning in GSM/UMTS/LTE network
  • Read, interpret and act on very high level of proper understanding of technical documents, engineering test materials and related documents based on corporate engineering standards and philosophy
  • Skills and knowledge to test and evaluate new Wireless Products, including the verification of product features by simulation and/or reproduction of errors and complaints of Wireless products from post launch issues.
  • Mentoring fellow engineers in technique aspects of the work description
  • Create & update high level documents, testing materials, and standards
  • Manage timelines and scheduling for multiple models to ensure deadline & milestone achievements
