What we are looking for: The QC Technician supports the Quality Departments in order to ensure a quality product is produced and to assist with quality documentation while providing indirect support to BWF account managers and sales executives.
The QC Technician performs quality checks, bag filter investigations. This position utilizes knowledge of regulatory requirements to assess and document information regarding the quality of manufactured and received products. Additionally, the QC Technician ensures all tests and investigations comply with industry standards and are conducted in a safe manner while protecting source material, reports are comprehensive, findings are objective, and communications are fluid and clear.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work Sunday-Thursday 8:00pm-4:30am
- Ensures activities comply with industry standards.
- Confirms adherence to and execution of prescribed safety regulations.
- Ensures internal and external customer service and satisfaction.
- Ensures equipment on hand is appropriate to conduct desired tests and maintenance.
- Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards. Reports results to supervisor who will make an analysis and take necessary action.
- Performs detailed visual inspection when necessary to determine quality product where limits are not clearly defined. Provides visual inspection for obvious defects.
- Works from part or assembly drawings and specifications.
- Adjusts and reworks blueprints and CAD drawings of BWF products.
- Identify flaws in material/fabric, i.e., color, design, fabric.
- Reading blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies.
- Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
- Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements.
- Possess proficient written and verbal communication skills to find their requirements. At times, they may have to write protocols to the concerned department.
- The quality control inspectors may need to train other employees for some specific processes and procedures. They must be capable enough to train the employees regarding how to prevent flaws and work towards a smoother workflow.
- Having a basic knowledge of math is essential in measuring and calculating specifications during product development.
- Inspects and tests manufactured products.
- Visually inspects products and materials according to specifications to ensure conformity to established standards, using a variety of measuring instruments, tape measure, ruler, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Provide support for Shift supervisors to ensure quality product is being manufactured.
- Undertake inspections according to our inspection and control plans.
- Document inspection results.
- Identify, set aside and document all suspect or defective products.
Qualifications - Education:
- Associate Degree or 1 year of quality/lab/manufacturing experience
Specific skills:
- Prior QC experience a plus
- Document management preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, preferably: Microsoft Office, SAP, and CAD Software
- Ability to work well under pressure and in deadline situations.
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Team player attitude with a courteous and friendly demeanor and ability to work well with peers and management.
- Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment.
- Communicate often with others to share and receive information.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
