Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group (MCPG) seeks a Publisher's Assistant who will be= responsible for providing administrative and project-related support to the MCPG President and Associate Publisher.
What you'll do:
- Provide general administrative support, including managing calendar and scheduling meetings, booking travel arrangements (including car service, flights, and hotels), submitting expense reports
- Prepare and route materials for President and Associate Publisher, including liaising with editorial, marketing, publicity, and sales departments as needed
- Coordinate weekly acquisition meeting, including distribution of agendas and minutes.
- Arrange for and track vendor payments as needed
- Traffic paperwork that is sent to the President for approval
- Assist in organizing and preparing material for Launch, Sales Conference, and MCPG Cross-Departmental Meetings on a monthly and seasonal basis
- Communicate with key in-house stakeholders and external contacts (including authors and agents) as needed to share meeting plans and updates
- Administer Lexile review process for all MCPG titles
- Periodically take on special projects, including sales research and creating presentations for Board meetings
What you'll bring:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information in a clear, concise manner
- Excellent minute-taking and writing skills
- In-depth knowledge of video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and Google Drive (including best practices for sharing and collaboration with documents and calendars)
- Ability to anticipate and proactively address supervisor’s needs
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as autonomously
- Advanced computer skills including, GSuite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Ideal Experience:
- 1+ administrative experience in an office environment
- Previous experience supporting a senior level executive preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with the publishing industry strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
This role will have an annual salary of $47,500.
