Overview
HarperCollins 360 is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join the New York-based team of this global HarperCollins program, publishing a select group of adult and children’s titles from HarperCollins UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India into the US marketplace. This position will support the department and work closely with the Affiliate Publisher, Sales Operations Manager, and Publicity Manager to implement marketing and PR plans for HarperCollins 360 titles. This is a hybrid position based out of our New York office.
Responsibilities
- Provides general administrative support for marketing, sales operations, and publicity (coordinates mailings, tracks marketing costs, maintains seasonal marketing grids, manages recurring meeting schedules, and more).
Creates and disseminates sales meeting materials including agendas and PowerPoints.
Collects and disseminates selling materials to sales department including ARCs, book samples, and sample spreads.
Assists in the creation of seasonal digital catalogs by adding selling points, marketing bullets, competitive titles, sample spreads, and more, to title management system.
Coordinates publicity mailings and press releases for the Publicity Manager.
Schedules and fulfills Goodreads giveaways.
Works with affiliates to create and upload digital book assets to online retailers.
Ensures marketing and publicity updates are reflected in HarperCollins’ title management system.
Participates and takes notes at seasonal launch, title focus, and sales conference meetings and weekly marketing update meetings.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
Experience with publishing such as an internship or a Publishing course preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superb organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge of basic HTML and Photoshop a plus
Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
Interest in book publishing industry and consumer marketing

The salary for this position is $48,500. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
