Public Works Maintenance Worker: $54,498 - $71,719
Positions assigned as a Public Works Maintenance Worker range from those developing and learning to those proficient in most tasks associated with the work of the assigned division. Incumbents begin by learning to master the safe operation of tools and equipment starting out with significant guidance from higher level positions. As they progress, they achieve a journey level mastery in their classification, becoming adept at regular tasks and able to safely operate most equipment necessary for typical tasks. While they achieve independence in routine tasks, direction may still be required for complex tasks and specific equipment operation. Continued skill and certification enhancement sets the path for further advancements within Public Works Maintenance.
Future Growth Opportunity/Lateral Transfer available:
Public Works Senior Maintenance Worker: $69,186 - $91,044
Movement to the Public Works Senior Maintenance Worker level is dependent upon mastery of complex tasks and equipment, obtainment of all necessary certifications, and demonstration of ability to lead others and create a positive work environment. Employees in these positions will provide guidance and training to less experienced workers and may provide work direction on a small crew.
A Lateral transfer may be placed at any of these levels, but will be considered for a Senior Maintenance Worker if the training and experience meet the requirements.
