Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno seeks candidates for a Public Records Paralegal. The Public Records Paralegal will be a member of the Office of General Counsel and will work with Marketing and Communications in processing and responding to Public Records requests.
The position will review and analyze Public Records requests received by the University, provide requests to appropriate campus offices as needed, receive potentially responsive records from campus offices, and review and analyze provided records for responsiveness to requests and for confidential information in accordance with applicable state and federal law and regulations and NSHE Code, for final review by the General Counsel and Associate and Assistant General Counsel. The position is accountable for recommending documents for production, for redaction, and for withholding in accordance with law. The position is accountable for meeting required deadlines and preparing approved documents for production, such as Bates-stamping. This position acts as a liaison function between the Public Records office in Marketing & Communications, Office of General Counsel, and the campus community in completing their work.
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR
Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
Related Experience: Experience as a paralegal or related.
