Job Description
We are a full-service estate planning, asset protection, and Probate Legal firm serving clients through all stages of life. Our small-sized, busy law firm is located near Downtown Summerlin and is looking for a friendly, professional, and experienced Legal Assistant to become part of our team. You will provide overall support to Attorneys and Paralegals on our Probate and Trust Administration team.
Responsibilities:
- Draft documents and prepare for filing with State, County, and other governmental entities.
- File Documents with State and County Courts.
- Answer, screen, and forward or schedule phone calls.
- Prepare and manage correspondence between clients, attorneys, and outside agencies.
- Handle information requests from clients and provide help when needed.
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
- Maintain and update multiple calendars and confirm or schedule meetings.
- Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, printing postage, mailing, labeling, and online tasks.
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, lists, documents and/or files.
- Track billable time and expenses using client billing software.
- Collect check and credit card payments.
- Misc. other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
- Friendly, compassionate demeanor with professional attitude and appearance.
- Proven work experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role. Probate experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite; primarily: Word, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook, and Windows 10.
- Must be proficient or able to learn Adobe PDFs and e-Sign Documents.
- Hands-on experience using internet-based programs and office equipment (e.g. computers, printers, copiers, multi-line phones)
- Ability to be resourceful, proactive, and show composure if issues arise.
- Must be willing and able to receive constructive direction and learn new behaviors or skills.
- Must be a Notary Public or willing to become one.
Hours Are:
Monday- Thursday 8am – 5pm
Friday 8am – 3pm
Closed on weekends and holidays with flexible lunch breaks.
