The Job at a Glance:

Performs various duties in the Legal Operations Department with an emphasis primarily on Bankruptcy.

A Typical Day:

• Receives and reviews all daily Bankruptcy notices and correspondence.
• Updates collections platform and core processor with bankruptcy information.
• Responds to e-mails and answers all telephone calls regarding bankruptcy matters from branches, members , attorneys and trustees.
• Uses PACER to review and monitor updates on bankruptcy cases.
• Maintains different spreadsheets to track all bankruptcy cases and tracks bankruptcy payments.
• Process all trustee payments and monitor direct payments.
• Deals with members regarding bankruptcy questions
• Deals with attorney's regarding clients' bankruptcy.
• Prepares and files all bankruptcy forms with the Bankruptcy Court (Proof of Claims and Reaffirmation Agreements).
• Review files to determine if an objection or motion is necessary.
• Monitors and maintains the Bankruptcy queues in the collections platform to ensure efficiency and track all deadlines.
• Looks for opportunities to learn and grow in the department.
• Knows and adheres to CU1 policies and procedures.

What We Look For:

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years banking experience preferably with bankruptcy
• Excellent organizational skills
• Requires good typing
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Must have excellent computer skills, proficient in Word and Excel
• Good communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be able to research information where needed
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and in a team environment
• Decision making skills
• Must be detailed and solution oriented
