Position Description:
The Proposal & Technical Writer is a member of the Growth team and will work with solution and service delivery staff on proposals. The Proposal & Technical Writer will be responsible for developing responsive cross-sectoral proposals that are compliant with funder requirements, working with the integrated capture teams to make narratives visually compelling. The Proposal & Technical Writer will also support the development of materials for prepositioning, such as capability statements, white papers, and contribute to thought leadership materials that influence stakeholders in the various technical areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead contributor/developer of original content for proposals working with SMEs, including contributing to technical design sessions on proposal strategy, facilitating development of win themes, and participating in discussions with potential partners (as needed).
- Develop outlines and technical narratives by collecting and integrating contributions of technical sections from SMEs, partners, and consultants, ensuring clear articulation of technical approach, competitive advantage, and corporate capabilities to implement proposed project.
- Participate in technical design sessions and color team reviews to draft and revise technical narratives.
- Collaborate with proposal team members to ensure alignment of technical and cost proposals.
- Ensure responsiveness of technical proposal to the solicitation.
- Edit proposals and proposal sections in accordance with LCG standards and solicitation requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Creative Writing or Business Writing with at least ten (5+) years work experience.
- Experience developing prepositioning documents, such as blog posts on technical topics and capability statements.
- 5 years of experience in content writing.
- Ability to thrive and be highly productive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, high-performance environment.
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and a sense of urgency around achieving/exceeding goals.
- 3-5 years of experience writing federal proposals or similar writing experience.
Desired Requirements:
- Master's degree with eight (3) years work experience.
- Experience writing proposals for GovCon Industry, including IDIQs, BPAs, and BICs.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000 per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
