Position Overview
Our client is looking for a Senior PM to support an Unemployment Insurance Modernization (UIM) project. The project is currently in the planning phase and is expected to be completed in December 2027.
The project includes the replacement of the outdated and expensive mainframe-based unemployment insurance benefits and tax system that is currently running on legacy hardware and software from the 1980's.
The EPMO manages projects using a hybrid waterfall-agile process. By combining the traditional Waterfall phases with an Agile Execution phase, we can capitalize on the clarity of Waterfall, while providing the flexibility and transparency of the Agile process, which is often needed to adapt to changing or unknown requirements.
Requirements:

• Strong communication skills
• PM experience including facilitating testing.
• independent and self-directed
• Azure Dev Ops (project tracking tool)
• Experience implementing unemployment insurance systems (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Organize and archive project artifacts in the state's document repository.
• Create and maintain project schedule (activities, dependencies, milestones, start/end dates, resources, % tasks completed)
• Provide weekly project status reports.
• Ensure data is up to date in the states project management tool in Salesforce.
• Provide recommendations for issues and risks.
• Work with EPMO IT portfolio manager and governance committees to ensure impacts from changes to scop, schedule, budget, risk, and responses are reviewed before a change is undertaken and that any changes are formally accepted using a state-approved change request form.
• facilitate policy discussions and address issues with project sponsors.
• Schedule and lead regular project status meetings:
• agendas and action items, issues, key decisions made.
• distribute documented notes using a link from the state document repository.
