Boise Cascade is looking to hire an HR Technology Project Manager to join the HR Technology Center of Excellence (COE). The HR Technology Project Manager provides leadership for any potential upgrades or project-related needs within our HR System (UKG Pro). We are seeking an agile, solution-oriented, problem solver who isn’t afraid to pursue new, exciting solutions and services to meeting customer expectations. This is accomplished by coaching/guiding our HR cross functional teams through project management methodology. This role will work out of our Corporate HQ offices in Boise, ID and has the potential for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for HR project management leadership through the mindset and cultivation of Agile practices and principles.
- Lead the analysis, exploration, and potential implementation for new time and labor software.
- Lead HR technical projects from original concept through final implementation under the support and direction of the HR leadership team.
- Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to HR technical projects and iterative projects. Coaches and advises cross functional teams to manage sprints, accomplish goals, meet established schedules, and resolve technical/operational/support needs.
- Act as liaison with between Human Resources, stakeholders, and business partners.
- Balance stakeholder needs and effectively negotiate tradeoffs between scope, schedule, cost, and participation. Consults with stakeholders, teams, and partners to determine shared understanding of detailed requirements on various HR projects to establish deliverables and manage change.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor progress, identify and quantify variances, perform required corrective actions, and communicate regularly to all stakeholders.
- Execute tasks as defined in the project plan to achieve goals. Actively manage overall risk including closure activities and gathering/sharing lessons learned.
- Maintain an understanding of the various work streams and their relationship to one another.
- Contribute to the planning, execution, and implementation of HR system projects considering accelerating digital transformation strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement through the mindset and cultivation of Agile practices and principles.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in leading HR project work of increasing complexity.
- Comfortable with change management, strong communication skills, and organizational efficiencies.
- Experience in Scrum/Kanban or other Agile methodologies; displays an agile mindset.
- Excellent team lead skills including ability to gather and document requirements, provide expertise to analyze client business requirements and suggest delivered/custom solutions to meet these requirements.
- Understanding of HR processes and/or systems.
- Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of HR to the business Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite and related systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile Project Methodology.
- HR cloud systems experience, preferably UKG Pro.
- Experience in continuous process improvement, including technology upgrades and implementation.
- Project Management experience leading cross-functional teams.
- HR systems query tool and SQL experience.
