Position Specific Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and support the FirePoint PIA (Partnership Intermediary Agreement). The position will work across the US Army customers to research and develop new technologies for the warfighter. The position will include leading SORE (Statement of Research Efforts) projects from a technical and programmatic view, interfacing with Army and Industry representatives, and developing new project opportunities with our Army customers. The selected candidate must have a self-starter attitude, be a problem solver, and be comfortable working with little supervision. This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama.

Summary of Responsibilities
Manages assigned project(s) to meet department objectives. Serves as point of contact in communications, coordinating and follow-up on schedules, deliverables, customer concerns, and change orders. Applies technical knowledge and/or expertise where applicable to ensure project success.

Essential Functions
  • Develops, reviews, and manages project plans, proposals, and objectives; creates schedules and ensures task deliverables meet customer expectations.
  • Applies technical knowledge and/or expertise where applicable to ensure project success.
  • Collaborates and manages relationships with internal and external partners and customers, both traditional and non-traditional.
  • Recommends project budget and monitors and adjusts plan as resource requirements change.
  • Addresses and resolves project issues to ensure goals remain on track.
  • Provides mentorship to student and graduate employees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related field

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering; or Computer Science

Minimum Experience
Six (6) years of related experience

Preferred Experience
Six (6) years of experience in Project Management and the fields of Advanced Avionics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA), Hybrid Electric Systems, Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) or Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC)
DOD Secret Clearance preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written format to internal and external customers
  • Ability to take initiative to learn and solve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be dependable to the team
