The Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a talented Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
TheSystems Engineering IPT Lead will work in a matrixed organization at Dynetics, supporting multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments, from the large-scale programs that Dynetics is the prime contractor for, like the Hypersonics Weapons Program and High Energy Laser Program, to smaller-scale programs for which Dynetics provides support as a subcontractor to companies in the top 100 DoD contractors. The candidate will join a diverse team of Systems Engineers within Dynetics and have the opportunity to work on programs from their preferred background, as well as challenge themselves by working on programs outside of their expertise. A candidate with experience in other Systems Engineering areas such as Model-Based Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Risk Management, and Reliability Analysis will be treated preferentially. However, a strong background in traditional Systems Engineering is what is required for this position, and training opportunities for those other areas will be made available to the candidate while at Dynetics.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineering IPT Lead will lead the Systems Engineering team for the new, medium-range air defense radar (MRADR) for the US Marine Corps. The selected candidate will interface with internal and PEO Land Systems program management. The position will drive requirements specifications development derived from customer solicitation documents. The responsibilities also included modeling system behavior, defining the system architecture, capturing system
interfaces, performing requirements verification, developing test programs, and maintaining configuration management. The selected candidate will present the Systems Engineering artifacts they have developed to PEO Land Systems in formal design reviews and may serve as a customer liaison in many of their programs. The Systems IPT Lead will monitor all other design engineering products in support of MRADR’s Systems Engineering needs throughout its design life cycle.
The Systems Engineer IPT Lead will lead a team of 5 Full-time Engineers (FTE) and be responsible for providing tasking for each individual on the team. The team effort will include developing a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model for the system. The Systems Engineering IPT Lead must interact with the model and task engineers to develop artifacts within the model, but is not expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in MBSE.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 15+ years of experience.
Experience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary IPT teams.
Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Demonstrated experience effectively leading a team of engineers.
Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:
Cameo and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools
DOORS and/or other requirements database tools
Understanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methods
Experience supporting DoD, NASA, or DARPA programs
Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP)
DAWIA SPRDE -SE Level III
Defense Acquisition Corps Member

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
