JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title:Project Manager
Reports to: Director of Projects, Executive Management Team
Home Office: Milwaukee, WI.
Oversees: Installation Technicians, Rigging Assistant Project Manager, Curtain Fabricator
Brief Summary: This is a fast-paced job requiring organized multi-tasking and a high level of communication skills, working with a broad spectrum of people under a variety of circumstances. The ideal candidate will be able to diffuse difficult situations without sacrificing the integrity of the job while ensuring all tasks are completed on time, within budget and specification. Candidates will possess the ability to make new plans and decisions based on evolving events. Occasional job site visits, hands-on rigging assistance and overnight travel may be required.
Duties:
Direction and oversight of rigging, curtain and track projects managed by the Milwaukee office. Projects may be sold from any companyoffice. All documentation and actions must be correct and complete. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Review of sales cost estimates, specs, plans and drawings to create a comprehensive bill of materials, determine actual dimensions and site conditions.
Materials are issued via an in-house accounting system, following established procedures.
Close interface with sales and other project teams to ensure accuracy and/or seamless integration.
Schedule manufacture, shop, and installation time, including sewing room.
Schedule equipment purchase, working with other departments to determine and maintain stock levels.
Understand and follow safety practices in accordance with OSHA and established MainStage procedures.
Maintain contact with project owners, contractors, electricians, or Project Managers as appropriate, problem resolution as required, all documentation including pre- and post-project submittal documents,
closeout documents and other documents as required by the project.
Employee supervision – reviews, coaching, counseling, oversight of daily activities.
Skills:
Excellent, professional written and verbal communication skills are essential when dealing with both contractors and co-workers.
Knowledge of theatrical equipment, practices, and procedures; ETCP Theatre Rigging Certification will be required after a certain level of training has been accomplished.
Basic knowledge of construction practices, onsite safety, and power tools.
Hands on supervisory experience with the ability to coach, counsel, teach, mentor, and build teams.
Basic math skills including but not limited to addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Better than average computer skills including AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
High ability to work with or without supervision and make sound decisions based on guidelines established by management and standard industry practices.
Employment Requirements: Pre-employment drug testing and background check. Must possess (and maintain) a valid driver’s license. Security clearances will be necessary in several states.
Compensation: TBD depending on experience. Standard MainStage benefits package per the current handbook. Travel expenses, badging and most training expenses are fully paid by MainStage.
