Project Engineer - Fabrication Quality

Opportunity
To develop, implement, maintain, and improve thequality systems and controls necessary to insure fabricated and paintedcomponents are compliant to all specifications at the Mosel manufacturingfacility.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and communicate day-to-day quality issues within the metal fabrication and paint area within the Mosel facility.
- Make decisions related to product quality, serving as the voice of the customer.
- Work cross functionally with assembly, component areas, and supplier quality to coordinate containment activities and make disposition on suspect material as not to affect the manufacturing lines and customer.
- Lead reviews with support team, identify actions to reduce occurrences, and drive year over year improvement.Maintain quality metrics (DPPM) within the area.Process and review non conformances in the area to better understand trends.
- Lead MPC material review board process. Recommend product and process changes to reduce quality defects.
- Utilize APQP principles to certify processes related to new products and equipment. This includes measurement system analysis (GRR), control plans, capability studies, work instructions, etc.Utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools as necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement and lead problem solving activities by using tools such as Six Sigma, Shanin, and lean manufacturing.
- Work with design and manufacturing engineers to determine key product characteristics.
- Define and improve methods and equipment that will be used to measure key quality characteristics of the process. Collaborate with metrology to recommend frequencies and collect gages for calibration of inspection equipment.
- Train and communicate with floor associates on quality alerts, new inspection requirements, and testing criteria.
- Lead MPC/Paint quality inspection team.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor'sDegree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
- 3-5years experience in quality or engineered assembly is preferred.
- Musthave good computer skills(ie Microsoft office tools, SAP, etc). Microsoft Power BI, Windchill data managementand SPC software experience desirable but not required

The salary range for this position is $81,050 - $102,400. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
