Opportunity
As a Quality Project Engineer, this role serves as a product/process expert in providing comprehensive purchased product Quality support to products being sold in the Global market. This role makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead the cross-functional Print & Process Review process for purchased products for local market product including understanding product and process key characteristics, expected process controls, and mitigating product/process risks.
- Conduct product and design validation procedures for local market purchased products/drawings changes including DFMA, robustness tests, process flow, FMEA, MSA, capability studies, dimensional conformance, AAR, performance testing and documented control plans in accordance with the Product Policy requirements.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for supplier development in quality systems, products, and processes. Utilize proven methodologies such as ISO, SPC, Lean and Six Sigma to drive recordable improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Lead and develop a group of technical staff in product and design validation procedures to ensure the parts are both designed and manufactured with robustness.
- Ensure the Kohler quality systems and quality processes are adhered in general and specifically CA/PA action are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- This position may require up to 20-30% travel domestically and internationally to support Procurement and Quality initiatives.
Skills/Requirements
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program required.
- A strong problem solver with experience in the application of corrective action and preventive action methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, PDCA etc.
- Preferably, at least 1-3 years of experience in the field of quality, design engineering or operations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, casting, plating, PVD and Machining.
- Possess leadership skills and preferably has experience managing a direct report in the field of engineering, quality, or operations.
- A change agent and a solid time management planner with the capability of applying fundamental quality techniques across multiple projects, and shall be actively developing skills in product, process, and system related techniques.
- Good oral & written communication skills, as well as proficient computer skills in Microsoft office products are needed.

The salary range for this position is $81,050 - $102,400. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
