Reports to: Project Manager Location: Southwest Minneapolis metro area
Job Purpose In this position, you support the Project Manager and construction team in streamlining day-to-day activities on the job site and delivering results.
Principle Accountabilities
- Support Project Manager on all construction related tasks for the assigned project
- Serve as a liaison for the client, staff and construction teams as requested
- Participate in or lead Project Meetings with the construction team and client
- Coordinate with outside vendors to order and expedite materials
- Maintain project documentation per Nexus Solutions’ standards
- Help prepare and distribute bid packages to bid participants
- Assist with invoices, budgets and schedule of values
- Enforce safe work practices and company/client safety programs
- Maintain 3-week look-ahead schedule
- Coordinate on-site subcontractors, consultants, and vendors and ensure their completion of work within expected timeframe
- Manage submittal process
- Maintain daily logs and construction progress photos
- Ensure all project work and materials supplied by any vendor fully comply with project plans, specifications, applicable laws, permits, and codes
- Manage work to meet or exceed construction industry practices, processes and standards
- Maintain field office
- Ensure the project site is consistently clean and organized
- Address questions and problems with urgency; collaborate with team Nexus as needed
- Mitigate risk to both Nexus and the client organization
- Apply learnings to improve communications and processes going forward
Education, Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or related field
- 0-3 years’ experience in a construction environment
- Ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently
- An understanding of scheduling risk management
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and highly organized in approach to work
- Able to manage multiple, competing priorities; flexibility to shift focus when needed
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Proven ability to operate with integrity and build lasting trust-based relationships
- Strong computer skills with competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam
- Able to travel to job site and accommodate flexible scheduling
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Procore
- Able to translate technical jargon and project related information to meet client needs
- Experience working with K-12 facilities, programs, and priorities

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
