Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs, and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions, and cruise ships worldwide. Working across a spectrum of disciplines that range from creative and conceptual to scientific and technical, Imagineers blend an innovative mixture of storytelling, art, science, and technology to create immersive experiences, memorable destinations, and innovative entertainment for families around the globe.

Nearly every project at Walt Disney Imagineering includes a first-of-its-kind. Innovation is in our DNA, and Imagineers constantly push the boundaries of technology and invent new goals as well as the solutions to achieve them. As Imagineers, one of our greatest rewards is knowing that the experiences and environments we create inspire others. The diversity of expertise at Imagineering makes us uniquely capable of influencing positive change in our communities and around the world. And knowing that we have helped make a difference is incredibly fulfilling and inspiring for all of us.

Our Support Professionals within Facilities and Operations are highly-respected and use their skills to keep the wheels turning. Your mission? To help create that legendary Disney magic for our Guests and customers. Our Facilities and Operations Team provides the vital space, equipment, and infrastructure to build a collaborative environment for the design teams to dream, design, and create.

You will report to the Manager - Facilities & Operations.

This is a 2-1/2 year-long Project Hire/Temporary Assignment position with no guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for keeping the day-to-day workings of our office humming. It may include planning the move of employees, setting up an event, meeting with contractors, purchasing furniture, or redesigning an office space. You would play a key role in the organization by screening incoming phone calls/e-mails and advising those incoming questions and requests to the team members. As projects progress, you will generate purchase orders, track orders, and ensure payment of invoices.

Of course, there will be memos, expense reports, and spreadsheets. But this role is more about forming connections with your leaders and co-workers and understanding how the Disney enterprise is structured. Every day as a Support Professional is different! On any given day you might:

  • Make an inventory of the office supplies, then devise a more efficient way to keep things in stock

  • Review your leader’s schedule so you understand the day’s priorities

  • Think ahead about little things that can turn into big problems, like building in time to get to/from meetings at our sprawling offices

  • Schedule conference rooms, meetings, and video chats

  • Be ready to throw the entire schedule out the door when an emergency comes up, then pick it up again when the dust settles

  • Draft letters and emails on behalf of your leaders

  • Prepare regular reports and summaries -- you’ll have tasks that you “own” completely, and others that you assist with

  • Assist with on-boarding new employees – you’ll be the “friendly face” that newbies count on to answer all their questions

  • Manage purchase orders and vendor contracts

  • Plan events like birthdays, service anniversary recognition parties, lunch-and-learns, and team-building activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 2 years in an administrative or support role

  • Ability to use SAP, Coupa or similar products

  • Sharp communication skills, including clean grammar

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and results

  • Strong proficiency with computers, phones, and office equipment

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and working in a Windows environment

  • Reliability in handling confidential information;

  • Desire to build solid inter and intra-team relationships

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • A positive outlook and a can-do attitude

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within the Disney Grand Central Creative Campus.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
