Job Description
Provide programming and machining expertise. Program, set-up, and operate machinery for the fabrication/production of parts. Maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Program the CMM to measure per drawing specifications
- Develop CNC programs for mills based on drawings and models
- Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements
- Interact with computer-based controllers (conversational and G&M code) to enter and/or edit job programs and tool selection information
- Work with operators to optimize machine capabilities
- Plan, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, material, and operating instructions before and while running operations and equipment
- Produce and inspect parts against drawings specifications within time allotted; ensuring product meets specified quality standards
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work to drawings
- Verify initial product quality checks and complete all processing operations
- Inspect parts against blueprints and specifications; ensuring product meets specified quality standards
- Update related paperwork (work orders and in-process inspection sheets) upon completion of tasks
- Ability to stand and operate machinery throughout the duration of shift, except for scheduled breaks
- Ability to lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload required objects
- Demonstrate safe work habits
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner
- Maintain current, overall, and job specific trainings and requirements
- Assist in other departments as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Detail oriented
- Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated
- Basic math and trigonometry skills
- Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities
- Proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming
- AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of experience
- Experience working with three (3) and five (5) axis equipment machining aluminum and steel
2nd Shift Hours: 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Monday - Friday
2nd Shift Diff: $2.00, per hour
3rd Shift Hours: 9:30pm to 6:00am, Monday - Friday
3rd Shift Diff: $1.00, per hour
