Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-12: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes meeting one or more of the following: Planned and coordinated a variety of environmental or natural resource projects; Provided analytical and technical advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to organizational processes, procedures, and policies; Coordinated or developed annual long-term management programs; Identified and evaluated problems and program management issues making recommendations to resolve issues at a unit level; Developed and implemented fire grants and agreements with cooperators; Maintained relationships with entities external to the organization regarding complex management program issues; Assisted with the development of cooperative agreements.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
