This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Ute Mountain Ute Agency in Towaoc, Colorado. You will serve as the Superintendent which is the line officer in charge of the daily operations and special projects of the agency.

GS-14: Qualifying is at least one year of specialized experience or equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must include responsibility for the organization, mission, and objectives to carry out management functions; administer public laws, rules and regulation requirements, and court rulings relative to Indian Affairs; carry out the functions of protecting and managing land and other Indian resources to comply with performance goals and to assess the progress toward attainment of those goals; supervise, monitor and direct employees in their performance of assigned or delegated tasks, and use of interpersonal skills. Examples of experience includes work which involved providing management oversight of the daily operations and special projects of an agency involving multiple federal government programs; providing expert counsel to agency professionals on a wide variety of social, economic and political issues and problems such as pertaining to Trust and Indian Services for American Indians; work which provided an in-depth knowledge of the Bureau of Indian Affairs mission, organization, functions, goals, and objectives to carry out the management function as a line officer.
This is a key management position. Simply meeting time-in-grade in occupations where directing and managing Indian trust responsibilities and programs was not performed, will not be qualifying.
