Job description

Thresholds is seeking a highly-skilled, energetic, and flexible Program Director for our Youth Transitional Living Program. This program consists of REACH, a Youth Transitional Living Program (TLP), and the Mothers Project, a TLP that serves pregnant and parenting young mothers. Both TLPs offer comprehensive support to young people between the ages of 17 and 24 who are experiencing mental health challenges through residential support, case management, and therapy services. The Mothers Project is also home to Building Flourishing Families (BFF), which provides the same comprehensive services for young mothers who are experiencing homelessness, as well as PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness), which provides support to families with parents of any age who are experiencing mental health struggles and homelessness. The Program Director is responsible for the general welfare of the members and staff, as well as the development, operation, administration and evaluation of the program. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provides leadership to the programs, ensuring the day-to-day operations of case management services, clinical services, and 5 TLP residential sites.
  • Ensures that program implementation and the delivery of all program and casework services align with agency objectives, fidelity scales, and DCFS contracts.
  • Ensures that the teams within the program function optimally in order to meet the support needs of the youth served by the Youth Transitional Living Program
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Thresholds policies. 
  • Functions as a leader of the organization, modeling evidence-based practices and recovery and representing the agency on special projects, to outside organizations, or in the community.
  • Monitors all required paperwork and maintains the quality and validity of individual case records according to regulatory bodies.
  • Prepares salary and lineitem budget recommendations for the program. Oversees expenditures for the program in accordance with the agency's accounting practices. 
  • Assists with special tasks such as writing proposals, publications, annual reports, representing the agency at meetings, conferences, conducting research, consulting with and training outside visitors and trainees, supervising students, orienting and training new staff. 

REQUIREMENTS  

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related field.
  • Licensure preferred (LSW, LCSW, LCPC, LCSW).
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising a youth service program, especially for youth experiencing severe mental illness.
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and daily access to a car is strongly preferred. Willingness and ability to travel to various program sites is required.
  • Flexibility with schedule for on-call rotation and occasional evenings.
