Youth Crossroads supports youth, guiding them through life’s challenges, and inspiring them to
discover new opportunities for personal development, healthy relationships, and positive
community involvement. We seek to provide youth with a comprehensive system of support,
positive structures, and role models to help them navigate the personal and academic challenges
they face in their daily lives, including counseling services, mentorship, tutoring, after-school
enrichment programs, youth leadership training, college and job readiness, and community
service.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Oversee the strategic and programmatic planning and implementation including creation of annual plans and program reviews and report outs.
· Create a formal written curriculum for the Youth Leadership Program and Middle School Program that will redesign and strengthen the quality of both programs
· Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding new employees for all YD programming.
· Oversee the supervision of all YD employees’ regular meetings and annual performance evaluations.
· Responsible for selecting and supervising all YD college interns including screening and hiring and meeting internship obligations as required by University partners.
· Work closely with YD employees to design, coordinate, and implement effective and efficient programs.
· Provide discal oversight for program budgets. Manage program expenses and provide timely budget reports.
· Serve as the key point-person for all YD program partnerships and community collaborations. Maintain and build on existing community partnerships that enhance YD programs including partnerships with local schools, government entities, and non-profit organizations.
· Oversee the collection of data, analyze the results, and provide reports that capture quantitative and qualitative program progress and effectiveness.
· Serve on the YC leadership team and assist with agency-wide strategic planning, reporting, and other boarder agency responsibilities.
· This position includes a significant amount of out-ward facing responsibility in community collaboration and further partnerships
· Participate actively in regular staff meetings
· Be willing and able to work non-traditional hours that may include evenings/weekends
· Perform other duties as assigned that enhance the YD program and/or Youth Crossroads, Inc.
· Assist in program implementation as needed
· Responsible for ensuring upkeep of YD program van, making sure that vehicle maintenance, inspections, tags, etc. are up to date in order for van to be used
Desired Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in a Human Services Field (Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, etc)
2. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Youth Development work preferred
3. Knowledge or history of working in the Berwyn/Cicero community.
4. Creative and visionary individual
5. Experience with conflict resolution.
6. Experience working with diverse populations.
7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
8. Proficiency in computer applications.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
10. Self-directed and able to work collaboratively with minimal oversight.
11. Access to a vehicle and valid Illinois Driver’s License Have a valid driver’s license and
operational vehicle
12. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, with occasional weekends
