Description

The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for the continuous implementation and development of the Defense division's Quality Management System, ensuring all requirements of the QMS are satisfied to remain ISO 9001:2015 compliant. The Process Improvement Manager identifies areas for improvement and implements potential solutions, analyzes current processes, develops strategies for improvement, implements corrective and preventative actions and monitors progress, and communicates findings to stakeholders. The position plans, organizes, and manages improvement projects, to include training personnel on new processes or procedures. This position is in support of ISO 9001:2015 compliance in an office environment and does not involve manufacturing.

Darley Defense, a division of the W.S. Darley company, specializes in using existing contracts to distribute products and services to the Federal Government. Darley Defense specializes in special operational equipment and fire and emergency services.



Requirements

  •  Identifies and addresses methods to improve operational efficiencies and reduce risks to drive improvements and enhance customer experiences and satisfaction. 
  • Evaluates and monitors current processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and drives continual improvement efforts across the division.
  • Develops new processes and procedures within the QMS, coordinating training and implementation of changes with stakeholders.
  • Works with stakeholders to review all functional areas within divisional operations, developing and implementing work instructions for individual job functions across the division. Works with managers to ensure compliance with work instructions throughout daily operations.
  • Develops and implements key performance indicators and competency assessments based on individual team requirements. Works with managers to effectively measure performance against quality objectives and KPIs.
  • Reviews current divisional documents, updating or removing from circulation, as required.
  • Develops and implements new divisional documents which may be required to better meet ISO:9001 2015 standards. 
  • Identifies internal and external nonconformances, working with stakeholders to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative action plans. 
  • Works with customers to receive feedback and drive customer experience improvement initiatives. Leads customer service improvement initiatives for the division. 
  • Schedules and leads management reviews, internal audits, and other meetings with necessary stakeholders, as required by the QMS. 


Essential Qualifications


Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience in a related field.


Experience

  • Minimum of two years in a professional business role. 
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and requirements of the standard.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Government contracting.
  • Knowledge or experience with employee training programs.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role a plus.

Skills

  •  Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement a quality program.
  • Design, evaluate and monitor strategies of a quality program. 
  • Effective communicator across multiple teams.
  • Relationship and goal oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities but may incorporate direct reports to support future growth.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses company standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, and mobile devices.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or as otherwise required, including nights and weekends.

This position does not currently require travel.
