We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to work directly with the Controller to assist with supervising and overseeing all aspects of the Accounting department. This position will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the month-end closing review process for the financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation as needed,
- Prepare cash flow projections to effectively manage cash balances and schedule owner distributions
- Establish and maintain internal controls
- Assist the Controller in producing accurate and timely financial statements at a Corporate level
- Serve as a liaison to external auditors
- Assist with supervising the accounting department
- Ensure that the department and company adhere to the regulatory and in-house standards and best practice
- Perform administrative tasks related to properties including correspondence, license application/renewals, tracking/payment of property taxes, and other administrative tasks as they arise
- Assist with Treasury Management
- Backup other accountants when necessary
- Review sales tax or accommodation tax returns for properties
- Assist with managing system software applications
- Miscellaneous tasks that may include scanning, copying, filing, and/or storing accounting-related documents
- Handle special projects as requested by management
- Respond to requests for information from properties and related parties in a timely manner
Required Qualifications:
- College degree
- Understanding of accounting
- Previous financial reporting experience
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred
- Possesses strong leadership, supervisory, and management abilities
- Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and think logically in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel and customers at all discipline levels, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Able to work as a team player in a deadline-driven environment with accuracy and organization
- Maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and public
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with M3 Accounting Core
- Experience with ProfitSword
