Program Coordinator - Student Information Systems And Technology

The Summer and Special Academic Programs Office is currently seeking applications for a Program Coordinator at its Center for American English Language and Culture (CAELC).

The mission of CAELC is to provide leadership on issues relating to ESL/intercultural communication and to help members of the University of Virginia attain the level of linguistic and cultural proficiency needed for success at a research university in the United States. The coordinator's role is to support the mission of all the programs in CAELC.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, technically proficient individual, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The CAELC Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication with a diverse population, including international students, faculty, and administrators. The ability to work independently within established guidelines and policies, as well as collaborate seamlessly with a larger team, is essential.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing organizing systems, communicating with stakeholders, and advising our instructional team on new technologies and approaches. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as familiarity with Access Database is preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain, manage, and organize databases of students records with confidentiality are paramount.

The Program Coordinator will proactively identify areas for program improvement, managing projects, coordinating instructors in ongoing projects, and collaborating with colleagues for program-wide and technological changes. The Coordinator will ensure objectives are met on time and guide the team through changes and developments.

This role demands continuous learning, initiative, and adaptability, with a focus on building and maintaining professional relationships, problem-solving, and decision-making aligned with the CAELC program goals. The coordinator will also maintain an on-line presence and resources for CAELC.

Responsibilities will include facilitating language testing, announcements of upcoming events for CAELC, reporting testing results, and communicating scores and course recommendations to departments. This position will also perform departmental administrative functions, such as event planning and management, maintenance of office environment including availability of supplies and equipment functionality, procurement and processing of goods and services.

Minimum requirements

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: At least four years experience

This position is Hybrid located in Charlottesville, VA.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $46,000 - $48,000 commensurate with education and experience. commensurate with education and experience.
