Departmental Objective:The Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education (DGS) admits and supports graduate and continuing education students beginning with the admission process, continuing with successful navigation of the students’ program, and culminating in timely degree completion. It maintains the integrity of the admission, enrollment, and degree completion processes through the proper administration of academic and administrative policies, while advocating for students, faculty, and the individual graduate programs.
Purpose of the Position:This position runs the admission office for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education; creates and manages all documentation for Graduate Studies including all purchasing, hiring, course management (syllabi, LHEs for budgeting), government reports (IPEDS and SCHEV census reports), liaises with other university offices, including the registrar’s office, IR, payroll, and other dean’s offices; and manages the daily functioning of the Division’s office.

- Ability to learn, become proficient in, and help others with university software, including Microsoft Office, Slate, Banner, Perceptive Experience, InDesign, Google Suite, and eVA.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in developing or producing catalogs, brochures, forms and other publications and updating websites
- Ability to understand and administer an office budget
- Ability to interact with applicants, faculty, students, and staff in a courteous, professional, and supportive manner
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience in office practices
- Experience in basic data processing
- Experience in word processing and spreadsheet software
Education:
- College coursework or Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in Word, Excel, Google Suite, Perceptive Experience, Banner, eVA, Slate, and InDesign catalog software
- Experience in an enrollment or admissions office in higher education setting
- Knowledge of State hiring practices pertaining to adjunct faculty and students
- Knowledge of Financial spreadsheets and budgets
