HARBORVIEW’S INTERPRETER SERVICES ETHNOMED DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a PROGRAM COORDINATOR
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • First Shift

  • POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Connect University of Washington students to opportunities at Harborview.
  • Explore health and culture-related issues for publication on the EthnoMed website.
  • Promote and contribute to the development of the EthnoMed team.

  • PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as EthnoMed’s primary contact and liaison with academic programs.
  • Recruit student authors by preparing and posting project descriptions to recruitment sites.
  • Introduce students to community and hospital contacts and orient them to the EthnoMed website and project activities.
  • Assist students to conduct inquiry on their topic area and to execute project activities and timelines to produce deliverables.
  • Represent EthnoMed in varied community and professional settings such as
    conferences, ethnic community health board meetings, health fairs, and new refugee arrivals working group.
  • Lead content creation activities for selected initiatives not involving student authors.
  • Edit documents and other materials produced by students. Coordinate translations as needed.

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience as a PROGRAM COORDINATOR in a medical setting
  • OR equivalent education/experience.
