The Brannon Civic Center Program Coordinator plans, coordinates and supervises City athletic, events and recreation programs and events at multiple recreation facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Participates in staff conferences in planning comprehensive recreation programs.
- Prepares facility/program registration procedures; conducts registration, schedules teams/classes/events.
- Investigates and takes action on requests, suggestions or complaints concerning recreation services in the assigned area.
- Provides leadership by introducing new programs, equipment and facilities to staff members and to community.
- Solicits sponsors; orders and distributes equipment and uniforms; maintains inventory of City property; recruits volunteers, secures and schedules umpires.
- Requisitions equipment and supplies as needed.
- Responsible for inventory control of equipment and materials allocated in the area, and the maintenance of the facilities.
- Assists the Manager in managing all aspects of the Brannon Civic Center as a business entity with the goal that the facility is revenue generating.
- Responsible for booking and scheduling internal and external events at the Brannon Civic Center.
- Responsible for leasing of City facilities with the goal of having facilities booked at or near capacity.
- Promotes events to the community by developing and implementing effective marketing efforts to increase public awareness of, and use of the facilities to include creating brochures, speaking events, and advertising, and social media outlets.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community groups, organizations, schools, etc.
- Meets with organizations, groups, and individuals interested in renting the facilities to review
- Coordinates with caterers and other service providers for events and programs.
- Manages the logistics of all events including staffing, equipment, parking, and supplies.
- Recommends new or revised programs and activities through studies and reports. Evaluates existing programs and events.
- Follows up with clients to ensure satisfaction with facilities.
- Coordinates with City staff and Departments on all aspects of the facilities including contract management, logistics, staffing, insurance, liability, safety, etc.
- Simulates interest in recreational and arts activities with the City through contacts and liaison with interested groups and individuals.
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of paid and volunteer personnel of the assigned location.
Previous experience with recreation programs highly desirable. Must pass a Level II background, physical and drug screen.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in recreation or physical education, hospitality, marketing, health or closely related fields.
One to two years of progressively responsible related experience;
or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Florida driver's license.
