This is a teleworking position, with the expectation that you will be working at the Millersville, MD office a few times per month. This position is not 100% remote.

A bachelor’s degree required, along with at least three years of experience working with different training software systems to provide and develop adequate training programs for coworkers.
What You Will Do
The Professional Development and Education Coordinator is the primary point-person for the management of The Center’s corporate training and Education delivery. This role, in collaboration with leadership and Education facilitators across the organization, is responsible for assessing coworker education needs and coordinating coworker learning and opportunities that incorporate contemporary teaching styles suited for adult and professional learners. The Professional Development and Education Coordinator provides recommendations regarding delivery methods for facilitated and self-paced learning. This position serves as the system administrator for The Center’s Learning Management System (LMS). This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
As our Professional Development and Education Coordinator, you will:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in all departments to identify, support, and implement programmatic training requirements and changes/improvements that incorporate various adult and professional learning styles.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver educational material, new processes for coworkers in all programs, and track skills/knowledge progress. Maintains accurate training records and produces training reports.
- Facilitate meetings with newly hired coworkers and their respective managers during orientation to assess skill and knowledge gaps and support coordination of supplemental training/education to promote coworker success.
- Serve as the administrator for The Center’s Learning Management System (LMS). Provides advice and coaching on course content, delivery approaches, LMS utilization, progress measurement, and innovative use of interactive teaching methods which incorporate audible, visual, and kinesthetic learning approaches to other facilitators/presenters/trainings within the organization. Works with LMS vendor to maximize the use of the LMS for organizational need (e.g., updates, LMS training).
- Track training related trends and provide timely information to relevant internal leaders and suggest modalities for improvement, as necessary.
- Develop and/or facilitate coworker courses/workshops/seminars that address a vast array of topics including mandatory organizational competencies.
- Encourage the alignment of educational materials and delivery with The Center’s mission, vision, and values.
- Work with organizational leadership to design, implement, and monitor training-related projects.
- Assist facilitators in utilizing the LMS for scheduling and training recordkeeping.
- Monitor staff development related budgetary items and alert C.O.O. of potential issues in a timely manner. Works collaboratively with the C.O.O. to develop the annual Staff Development budget.
- Provide/facilitate CPR training for coworkers.
- Employ professional training best-practices whenever possible to support efficient implementation of staff development programming, and coworker learning that supports The Center’s mission, vision, values, strategic goals/objectives, supporting consistent superior client services.
- Provide feedback on training materials (e.g., PowerPoints, handouts, competency verification) produced within The Center to ensure their accuracy and maximize learning effectiveness.
- Design and use relevant software (e.g., iSpring) to develop training modules for internal use that are interactive and support independent and facilitated learning.
- Participate in relevant councils and committees to give feedback on coworker engagement and retention and insight into training opportunities for coworkers across all programs.
- Participate in the tracking of Professional Development and tuition reimbursement for organizational coworkers.
