Cabot Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to support our Franklin LA manufacturing plant. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for production area operations to assure efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness with the best use of resources and promoting a high level of safety and environmental performance to meet all production requirements.
- This position will be Site Incident Commander
- Supervises shift team/crews to improve safety and environmental compliance to ensure plant operates to regulations, permits, and plant/Cabot policies while ensuring proper Life Critical work permit setup and SHE type incidents are reported and investigated.
- Monitors and oversees the control of manufacturing units to achieve production plan, address process variation and unit operating issues, address maintenance issues, and manage off-quality process while adhering to work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Communicates clear daily instructions and operating unit status, ensures completion of all required reports, process records, shift employee records, and operator routines. Organizes daily shift tasks, activities and resources to accomplish plant-wide objectives and goals while standardizing work practices to support safe and reliable daily plant operations.
- Supervises shift employee work schedules, addresses shift contractual issues concerning bargaining unit contract, coaches and trains employees to promote accountability and task performance to Performance Based Management standards.
- Serves on special ad-hoc teams to address plant issues utilizing operations functional expertise and supports implementation of special programs or initiatives (i.e. RC-14001®, ISO-9001, etc.).
- Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
- Knowledge of Emergency Response Procedures
- Knowledge of Life Critical procedures (i.e. confined space entry, lockout tag out, Hot-work, etc.)
- Knowledge of Environmental programs and policies
- Understanding of Product Uniformity/ Variation
- Knowledge of general Chemical Manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Process Control
- Knowledge and ability in Incident / Near Miss Investigation and reporting procedures
- Technical knowledge of Carbon Black process and product technology
- High School diploma, some college preferred.
- Minimum of four years experience in a manufacturing environment.
