Job Description
Responsible for the supervision of operational activities in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards to achieve established production schedules and desired quality levels in a safe manner. This position is on first shift at our Kinston, North Carolina location (7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday; Friday if needed for overtime).
Key Accountabilities
- Supervise the activities and personnel engaged in manufacturing of products within their assigned department and shift.
- Create, maintain, and audit Standard Work
- Interpret, apply and/or consistently enforce all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety rules.
- Achieve departmental, plant, and corporate goals for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Promote clean, safe work areas throughout the plant by continuously checking for hazardous conditions.
- Lead production employees in continuous improvement activities.
- Develop, direct, and manage manufacturing personnel and train them to properly utilize all equipment and tools.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Proven work experience in a supervisory role. 3-5 year’s preferred in manufacturing assembly or warehouse environment
- Strong communication interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- Passion for safety and the commitment to upholding our belief in a safe and clean workplace
- Good problem solver resilient when facing difficult situations and holds self and others accountable to meet commitments
- The ability to read measurements work or calculate numbers use handheld tools including but not limited to handheld pallet jacks pneumatic staple guns industrial hot glue guns and power drills
- The ability to lift bend push-pull and move materials up to 50lbs and stand/walk an entire shift
Organizational Relationship
This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field
- Previous experience in Lean Process Improvement thinking and practices
- Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation and conflict resolution skills.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Moderate skills in MS Office.
- Must be adaptable to change and have the ability/desire to make a difference.
