Job Title:Production Supervisor
Salary: $20 - $24 per hour based on experience and additional $1 bonus for perfect attendance
Hours: Monday-Thursday 6AM-6PM with occasional Fridays, if needed
Job Summary
The Production Supervisor's main responsibility will be to oversee the work of others. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for production efficiency and quotas, coaching/training, resolving issues and serving as a link between production workers and upper management.
Primary Job Duties
- Enforce safety and company policies, GMP's and legal regulations.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Confer with other supervisors and/or managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments between every shift.
- Plan and establish line assignments, rotations employees, cleaning of equipment, and production sequences to meet production goals. Monitor employee break times.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions; report equipment issues to maintenance.
- Make sure materials stay stocked on the line and communicate production material needs to purchasing.
- Confer with human resources to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and prepare reports of production results through Appian.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Work as back-up blender or quality if needed
- Assist in production line set-up and make adjustments or change outs as needed.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
- Communicate employee attendance to payroll - Absent, NC/NS, and Unscheduled.
- Recommend personnel actions to human resources and management, such as hiring needs, performance evaluations, or promotions.
- Work with the safety coordinator to execute accident reports.
Knowledge
Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Mechanical -Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of basic electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, and applications.
Work Context
Communication - Continuous communication between Management and Operations
Responsibility for Others - This position manages the employees of the production department and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within that department.
Work Setting -This job operates in a professional office environment and active production floor. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne articles. Allergens are present. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
English/Spanish a plus.
