Position Summary: Planner Scheduler
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinating with shipping department in order to make the most efficient schedule for customers
- Read instructions from the current job ticket.
- Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements
- Set up jobs according to general specifications or modify if necessary.
- Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule
- Use Bills of Material with Routing Details through Work Centers to guide shop floor operations.
- Create detailed manufacturing order pick lists.
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages
- Back-flush complete or partially completed manufacturing orders.
- Notify management/customer service of any schedule impacts to customers ∙
- Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved ∙
- Completes status reports, such as production progress, customer information and materials inventory ∙
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Work in partnership with customer service to meet customer requirements
- Coordination with outside suppliers.
- Performs other duties as required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work around moving and vibrating equipment while exposed to noise
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a constant and/or frequent basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, reach on a constant and/or frequent basis
Job Qualifications:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes related to corrugated packaging
- Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- High School or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize work tasks
- Ability to communicate well on all levels and good interpersonal skills required
- Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications, understand and use shop math, use and interpret measuring instruments (tape measures, calipers, stopwatch, gauges, calculator, etc.)
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent changes or unexpected events
- Must be able to write legibly, read and speak English
- Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
- In‐depth knowledge of ERP or MRP (Amtech) software preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years production planning experience in a related industry
