Production Scheduler

FSW is a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier located in Romulus, MI. We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduler to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of our plant, Tier 2 subcontractors and off-site manufacturing facilities. This is a full time non-exempt salaried position. Work hours: Mon-Fri 7am - 3pm or 8am - 4pm. All work to be performed in our Romulus plant located at: 34846 Goddard Road, Romulus.

Responsibilities include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, and production problems. Our ideal candidate is familiar with production processes, has strong analytical skills and an ability to create effective schedules and prioritizing tasks. Ultimately, the Production Scheduler will ensure customer orders are fulfilled, meeting both quality and demand requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and establish work schedules/ line-ups, assignments, and production sequences to meet production requirements
• Oversee all aspects of Tier 2 supplier shipments; both shipping and receiving ensuring accuracy and compliance requirements are met
• Work with Tier 2 and logistics suppliers to meet required timelines in order ensure JIT customer shipments
• Prioritize and adapt schedules due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions
• Confer with department supervisors or other internal personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
• Estimate rates of production and completion dates for tasks based on current trends and customer releases while being able to adapt as necessary
• Compile information, such as production rates and progress, material inventories, material used, or customer information, to generate production reports
• Coordinate production with other functional areas such as sales, and quality control
• Support shipping, purchasing and all other production employees; serving as back up in each role as necessary to cover for vacations or any other time off

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Production Scheduler, Planner or similar role
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Familiar with OEM portals a plus
• IATF 196949 or ISO9001 Quality Management System familiarity a plus
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Ability to work well as a team or individually
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
