Summary:
The Production Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely execution of manufacturing processes. They are responsible for coordinating production schedules, assessing inventory levels, and optimizing resource allocation to meet demand while minimizing costs. By collaborating closely with various departments such as manufacturing, purchasing, maintenance and logistics, the Production Planner will facilitate smooth operations and help the organization achieve our production goals. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are essential for success in this role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and organizational objectives
· Analyze inventory levels and forecast future requirements to ensure adequate stock availability
· Coordinate with manufacturing teams to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime
· Collaborate with procurement department to secure necessary materials and supplies in a timely manner
· Monitor and track production progress, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing solutions to maintain workflow
· Utilize ERP systems or other software tools to manage production data and generate reports for analysis
· Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to relay production plans, updates, and any issues that may arise
· Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the production process
· Performs duties in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.
· Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong Project Management Skills
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of college-level education and experience.
Proficient at using Microsoft Office tools Excel, Word, and Outlook.
At least three years experience in a planning role in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Read and comprehend instructions and understand manufacturing documents.
Ability to prioritize workload and take ownership of decisions.
