GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is for the Production Manager overseeing Grid Structures fully- automated BEAM PROCESSING DEPARTMENT. This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all employees staffed in the designated department. This position is also accountable for production scheduling and ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. Additionally, this position will participate in both the hiring and performance management processes.
DUTIES:
- Maintains a production schedule to meet the needs of individual projects.
- Leads and controls crews engaged in all activities concerned with the project.
- Optimize resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
- Commands respect of workforce and develops excellent working relationships with all other department personnel.
- Ensures that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
- Familiar with all Company QA/QC and safety procedures / regulations and enforces them.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.

DESIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology or equivalent job-related experience.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR SKILLS:
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to demonstrate good organizational skills, following policies, procedures, and work practices, and developing improvements where necessary.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Adhere to all Southland Steel Fabricator’s, Inc. Safety Rules, Policies, and Procedures
- Attend all required safety meetings
- Wear specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),including but not limited to:
- Steel/hard toe boots
- Hearing protection
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
In order to do the job, the following physical requirements are necessary:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment or materials 50 lbs. or less
- Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching
- Ability to frequently handle (hold, seize, grasp, turn, etc.) tools, equipment, or material
Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, to include cold, heat, and humidity
